About Tapona

Tapona is a word in the Shona language that means “to heal” or “to recover”, which is the core essence of Tapona Health Spa.

At Tapona, healing is more than a service; it’s a sacred journey of self-discovery and transformation. With each touch, each treatment, we aspire to not only heal the body but also nurture the soul. For in healing ourselves and others, we find our true purpose and our greatest fulfillment.

Our Story

As a child, I was entrusted with the care of my beloved great-grandmother, a wise woman in her 90s who imparted the wisdom of living an organic life. Despite her pains, the source of which eluded us, she found solace in my touch as I gently massaged her back and feet until sleep overtook her. It was then that she remarked upon my “healing hands.”

Years later, as life unfolded, I found myself once again at the side of a loved one in need. My dear grandmother-in-law, frail and ailing, sought my care instinctively. Through these experiences, I discovered that my natural inclination toward helping and nurturing others was not merely a trait but a profound calling, with love and compassion as its secret ingredients.

In 2009, amidst the hustle and bustle of corporate life, I encountered the healing power of organic remedies derived from nature’s bounty. Though intrigued, I postponed exploration, believing it wise to focus on one path at a time. However, life had more lessons in store.

In 2022, my world was shaken by the loss of my son to the depths of depression, despite my relentless efforts to support him. In the wake of this tragedy and the upheaval wrought by the global pandemic, I found myself reevaluating life’s purpose. It was a pivotal moment, prompting a deep dive into the realms of alternative and complementary healing modalities.

Thus, Tapona Health Spa emerged not as a mere business endeavor, but as a heartfelt response to life’s trials and tribulations.
